I like and love this outlaw even more now that John Eldredge as revealed Jesus to me in an even more scandalous way. Someone who is not afraid of being who he is and was created to be. John divulged in meaningful and present-time understandable ways that Jesus is my friend, my best friend. He laughs with me, jokes with me, looks me in the eye and stands up for me…even when I have wavered. Then, He even died for me. That is why I like standing up for him. (Posted on 3/21/13)

Reading it again, I find new things pop out at me. I was literally brought to tears when seeing the chapter regarding the humanity of Jesus, and that he knows my heart intimately, and he wants me to come with him into his, as well as my own humanity because...he just does! This is my Jesus, the one I had been reading about in the gospels. The one I had been falling in love with and experiencing. I was losing him in the religious fog.

One of the best books I've ever picked up. I actually saw the Jesus as recorded in the Bible for the first time. It also got me excited to read God's Word! A must read for anyone who is trying to find Jesus in the religious fog of the church. As others have previously written, this is a book you will not want to put down and will read over and over again and keep on your bedside table.... you will also want to share it with friends and family.
